Bobette Thompson is President/CEO of Child Care Systems of America, Inc., an early education management and consulting company. In her 25 years in the industry, she has participated in the opening of 25 centers and consulted with numerous others. Bobette holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and CPA certification. She seeks to contribute to the industry through serving on state child care committees, presenting at conferences and active participation with NACCP and its Liaisons. All company owned sites are accredited by NAC.

Mary Hornbeck began her career in early care and education over 20 years ago when, at the age of 21, she became the owner of Special Beginnings Early Learning Center. Since that time, she has expanded her business 5 times and now operates four programs that serve over 250 families. As Executive Director, Mary leads a 8-member management team and 70 staff members. Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Life from the University of Kansas. She serves as a board member of the National Association of Child Care Professionals and is a Validator for the National Accreditation Commission. Mary is also a member of NAEYC, Kansas Women’s Business Center, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses. Mary has written and implemented staff and parent policy handbooks, and developmental assessments for young children. She is active in her community as a trainer and as an advocate for quality care and education of young children and for women business owners. In 2007 she was honored in Kansas City as one of 25 Women Who Mean Business by the Kansas City Business Journal.

Sally began her career as an Occupational Specialist/Career Counselor. Because of her strong training in team building, motivation and marketing, she utilized these skills to open Circle C Ranch Academy in 1986. Circle C serves the Tampa, FL area as a preschool, child care center and summer camp. Circle C Ranch Academy has achieved accreditation through the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs (NAC), which is sponsored by NACCP. Sally is a strong advocate for staff development and encourages each of her staff members to achieve their CDA certification or enroll in college courses. The staff of Circle C has trained with the High Scope Curriculum and Myers-Briggs Personality Profile System. Sally has worked to form Megan's Circle of Hope, a 501 (C) 3 organization to serve children with special needs. Sally's strengths are to bring out the talent of others and help them use those talents effectively. Before joining the NACCP Board of Directors, Sally served the organization as a Liaison for FL and Liaison Chair.

Bob Siegel is in his fourth decade in the child care business. Currently, he is the National Director of Easter Seals Children's Services with over 100 sites around the country. Bob is also the President of his own training and consulting company, Partners in Professional Development. Bob has worked as a preschool teacher, long-time child care director, graduate school teacher, children's museum director, and ECE management consultant and trainer. Currently he serves both on the Board of NACCP and as the Board President of the Early Care and Education Consortium. As a national expert, he often provides training and consultation in the areas of inclusion, staff development and supervision, fiscal management, as well as marketing and strategic planning.

Kathie Boe currently serves as Sr. Director of Quality and Accreditation for Knowledge Learning Corporation. In this capacity, Kathie directs the quality initiatives of the nation's largest child care provider. Kathie along with her team supports 1700 centers; among them over 500 are nationally accredited. Kathie brings to the position over 31 years of experience with programs for young children including work as a teacher, center director, district manager and Sr. Director of Program Training. She has served as a NAEYC validator and is trained as a NAC Validator and served five years as Secretary/Treasurer for Minnesota Child Care Association. Kathie is a frequent speaker at both regional and national conferences on the topics of early childhood education, team building, administration and staff development. Kathie holds a B.A. in Child Development from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN.

Lori Buxton has been involved in early childhood education since 1995. She has served children and their families on many levels, including children’s pastor, classroom teacher, program director and child care administrator. Lori is a dynamic training consultant who encourages and equips, challenges and inspires, and whose heart is deeply committed to serving those who in turn serve families in early education. Lori is the Executive Associate of PROEEA, Professional Early Education Associates, Inc. She is the founder of the Gulf Coast Director’s Network, 2010 & 2011 NACCP Conference Chair and a member of the NACCP Board of Directors.

She has a BS in Elementary Education and is an enthusiastic trainer who enjoys sharing her knowledge of building and managing effective teams through strengths-based leadership. Shannon resides in Dallas, Texas with her two daughters.

Michael A. Swain is a Sr. Loss Control Specialist for Markel Insurance Company. Michael creates and implements risk management programs in support of child care, social service, youth recreation programs, non-profit organizations, youth clubs and other industry groups. With over 20 years industry experience, he has a broad background in risk management. Michael, a 1984 graduate of Virginia Tech, holds certifications as an Associate in Risk Management and a Senior Claim Law Associate. He also holds certifications as a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, Child Passenger Safety Technician and is a certified Emergency Medical Technician. Michael has two children.
